Faith
Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic High School is proud to be the only Catholic high school in the country rooted in the culture of life.
Our mission is to form students who not only strengthen their Catholic faith through daily liturgy, but who also learn to defend and uphold the dignity of every human life—from the moment of creation until natural death.
Each semester, the school invites a guest speaker to educate and inspire our students on topics related to faith and the culture of life.

The Culture of Life in Our Curriculum
The culture of life is woven throughout every aspect of our curriculum at Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic High School.
Firmly grounded in the teachings of the Catholic Church, Saint Michael is dedicated to forming young men and women who understand, live, and promote a true culture of life. In partnership with American Life League (all.org), America’s foremost Catholic pro-life organization, our students engage with course materials, lectures, activities, and internships that inspire them to go forth and make a meaningful difference in the world.
Throughout their education, students thoughtfully explore moral and ethical issues such as personhood, abortion, euthanasia, artificial human reproduction (including IVF, surrogacy, and cloning), stem cell research, contraception, fertility care, genetic manipulation, embryo adoption, abnormal pregnancies, the death penalty, pain management, redemptive suffering, end-of-life medical care, assisted suicide, organ donation, and brain death.
By carefully integrating faith and reason, Saint Michael helps its students gain a deep understanding of the Church’s teachings on these matters so they can live out these truths and promote a culture of life in their daily lives. Religion courses further address key right-to-life topics, including abortion and euthanasia, to help students engage in public discourse with knowledge and compassion.
To enrich this formation, guest speakers visit the school at least twice a year to reflect on culture-of-life themes, and students and staff participate annually in the March for Life in Washington, DC, or in the Richmond March for Life, as outlined in the student handbook.

Commitment to Service
Servitude is one of our core values at Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic High School. Living out this virtue means putting faith into action through service to others. As part of our graduation requirements, each student completes service hours each year by volunteering at local organizations such as food banks, soup kitchens, and Mary’s Shelter. Through these experiences, our students learn the importance of compassion, humility, and serving Christ by serving others.
