Saint Michael Cell Phone Policy 2024-2025

In accordance with Governor Youngkin’s Executive Order, starting the 2024/25 school
year, students are not allowed cell phone use at Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic High
School during the school day.

We encourage families to look at current research trends that
demonstrate how social media use distracts students from learning and negatively affects
their mental and emotional well-being.

Students will need to lock up their phones upon arrival at school in the principal’s office.
When school hours conclude (2:45 pm) or if a student leaves early, students may access
their phone from the locker.

To effectively aid our students’ academic achievement, cell phone use has zero tolerance. If
a student is caught using a cell phone during school hours, it will be confiscated by a staff
member and will be released upon pick-up by the parent.
